STARAN WAKE - rogue light

MARK WAGNER | S☉N RISE (Official Video)
In Mark Wagner’s “Son Rise” (released by ZamZamrec and Adaadat) the Alchemist is depicted in his laboratory, contemplating and recounting the creation of the world and in doing so, he separates and recombines himself, appearing and dissolving in the creative act.
This won the Hermetic Film Festival’s 2022 award for best music video, with a special screening in Venice.
Frond - Transforming Around Us
This highlight from Frond’s beautiful ”Always There, Somewhere” album is (in Frond’s words) “a tale of curiosity, discovery and companionship”. Companionship is the constant, as analogue-processed live footage is treated to distort and play with our perceptions of time and place, as well as introducing curious other forces to discover.
This film was selected and screened at the 9th Deptford Cinema Film Festival.
TOMAGA - very never (my mind extends)
Live footage, analogue synthesis and carefully sculpted feedback fits this taut, driving Tomaga track. Their last album, “Intimate Immensity” is on Hand In The Dark Records.
A reflection on the track and video is included in this online article.

Teletextile - Gloria's Pocket Watch

live visuals with TOMAGA
Live-mixed original content recorded and played back at high speed.
tomaga - futura grotesk
The title track from TOMAGA's "futura grotesk" album (Hands In The Dark Records, 2014) lent itself to a warped digit shuffle - scrabbling at the screen, pulling away the shrink-wrap to free up your ears.
This also set the tone for a much more colourful live visual set of original material.
